I had a great meeting with the GOA Bridge this morning and can confirm the following:
· The bridge can handle 15+ sites without problem; they have done 40+ previously
· We have some choices on screen design; “auto-lecture” appears best. This let’s the dominant speaker be seen full screen, while his/her VC endpoint sees a montage of 7 sites. Further the montage can be programmed to change over a set number of minutes.
· They use and advocate others to use VC Scheduler; for those not using it, they accept phone calls and email requests.
· They are very happy with my idea to test, test and retest; I plan to start some tests in the next week or two
· If our tests show any sites of concern, they may be willing to bring in an extra VC tech to provide us dedicated support for Oct 31
· They seem willing and may be able to create a 3 – 5 minute video of their service for us to link and possibly show at Noon.
· Recording and simulcast Internet streaming needs to be discussed with Alberta Education or other. I have a contact for AB Ed and will pursue, now.
Having our CWB web site up and running was very helpful in presenting our event as serious to Todd. I will include a summary of these arrangements for our next meeting.
Bonne Journee
