This summer the Royal Tyrrell Museum ran a program using videoconferencing with libraries in Hanna, Three Hills, Cold Lake and Hinton. Three Hills was the only site that connected for all 8 sessions that were booked, with ColdLake connecting for 6, and Hinton and Hanna connecting for 1 each. Three Hills and the ClicSite project covered the costs of all the programs.
We delivered a suite of five different programs over the 8 sessions:
- RoyalTyrrellMuseum Virtual Visit
- Dinosaurs in the Movies
- PIQ: Test Your Palaeo Intelligence
- Up Close and Palaeo Jr.
- Rockin’ Alberta Resources
Given the success we had, I’m hoping libraries will continue to seek out content providers to supplement the materials they deliver throughout the year. I feel giving the public access to information from content providers is just as important as the schools having access. Adults are learners too!
