We used Ellumiate as a back channel. Most of the 17 pages was tech-talk but here are the content pieces I was able to extract from the recording:
Portage College: Question for Grand Prairie-- Were the students in local classrooms or were they teaching out to VC sites?
Portage College: cathy what kind of software do u use to transmit from home?
Daniel: For Gord: why are you outsourcing content providers? Give some examples of who you are outsourcing to.
Cathy King: I am using a Lifesize Express System
Richard@TheBusinessLink: Polycom PVX software also allows you to use your home pc with webcam as long as your pc has decent computing power. PVX costs $130
Cathy King: I have that as well and xmeeting so I use all three
Leslie Ayre-Jaschke: Question: Have there been any studies to compare the effectiveness of videoconference courses compared to traditional classroom education?
Daniel: Qusetion for Gord: some examples of who you are outsourcing content to/from?
Portage College: Question for Grand Prairie-- Were the students in local classrooms or were they teaching out to VC sites?
Patrick Calgary: Question - what types of hardware are Lethbridge using and what are they having most success with.
High Level: Question from High Level: is there any talk of this mobile MRI coming to Northern Alberta? (ex High Level, La Crete, Mackenzie Region)?
Patrick Calgary: Response: The investment should be made by the local health authority - if this can happen, we are absolutely capable of providing the interpretation services for the images given we are connected to you through the Supernet.
joshsehn: Thank you VERY MUCH to Graham for taking the initiative to educate everyone and for standing up to Telus as well as highlighting the falicy of Telus' arguements. I hope the CRTC will act in favor of the public and that Graham will be afforded the resources required to continue to keep Telus honest.
Leslie Warren: Michael asked what exactly we are talking about in this discussion - as Perry indicated, it's business which will keep rural alberta viable - we would like the same quality and performance as in the urban center so we will have successful businesses
Patrick Calgary: Andy: what do panelist see as likely traffic growth on services
joshsehn: How can Telus say that they are willing to help ISPs when it seems quite to the contrary as evidenced by the constant fighting, through the CRTC, with independant ISPs. My question is when can we expect Telus to stop acting in such predatory fashion?
Three Hills: Question from TH - What is Telus solution to the connectivity problem?
joshsehn: I wonder if Graham could comment as to wether it feels that Telus has acted in a predatory fashion and if these actions by the ILEC have hurt competition.
Three Hills: Well Done Everyone!
