Dan Brown
Dan Brown earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lakehead University in his home town of Thunder Bay, Ontario and immediately after graduation he moved to Calgary to begin his career as a systems analyst with Petro-Canada’s Marketing department. From there, his experiences lead him to move into a similar role with a small Alberta based company, Canadian Crude Separators. During his tenure with the company, Dan has held many positions from systems analyst to project manager of software development. Currently, Dan is the Director of Information Technology for CCS Corporation (formerly Canadian Crude Separators and CCS Income Trust), a Calgary based Energy Services organization, with approximately 3000 employees worldwide.
Dan is the Chairman of the CIO Forum, a member committee of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP), the Canadian organization representing 98% of all terrestrial and off-shore oil producing companies. Dan is in the final stages of completing a Master’s Degree in Communication and Technology through the University of Alberta, and has special interest in the ongoing development of rural broadband capabilities in Alberta and beyond.
